How it works

Each result gives points: 2 for a win, 1 each for a tie or a no result, as in Manage Cricket tournaments. Change them if your competition gives 4 for a win.

Teams are ranked by points, then by net run rate, then by wins. Net run rate is runs scored per over minus runs conceded per over, over every match.

Enter each innings as runs, wickets and overs (16.4 is 16 overs and 4 balls). A side bowled out counts its full overs for net run rate. The winner is the side with more runs; for a match decided another way (a super over, or DLS), pick the winner yourself.

A no-result match counts as played and gives each side its point, but stays out of net run rate. Leave a side's score empty if it did not bat.

Nothing is saved on our side: the whole table lives in the link. Keep the link to come back and add the next results.

A worked example

The Summer League has four teams. Falcons beat Rangers (150 for 6 against 120 all out in 16.4 overs), then chase down Strikers' 130 for 9, reaching 131 for 3 in 15.2 overs. Royals beat Strikers by 7 runs, and rain washed out Rangers against Royals.

Falcons top the table with 4 points and a net run rate of +1.703: 281 runs in 35.333 overs, against 250 in 40 (Rangers' 16.4 overs count as 20 because they were bowled out).

Royals are second with 3 points (+0.350), Rangers third with 1 (-1.500) and Strikers fourth with 0 (-1.200). The washed-out match gave Rangers and Royals a point each and stays out of their net run rates.

Questions and answers

How many points does a team get for a win?

2 for a win and 1 each for a tie or a no result, the way Manage Cricket tournaments count. You can change the numbers to match your competition.

How is the points table sorted?

By points, then net run rate, then wins. Teams still level stay in the order you entered them.

Can I share the points table on WhatsApp?

Yes. Send the link, which opens the same table for anyone, or make a picture of the table and share it from your phone.

Is my points table saved?

Not on our side: the table lives in its link, so keep the link. To run a whole tournament with fixtures, live scores and a table that updates itself, use Manage Cricket.

How do I enter a match shortened by rain?

Set that match's overs a side to the shortened number, so a side bowled out is charged the right overs. If DLS decided it, pick the winner yourself.

Score your matches with Manage Cricket

Score ball by ball on your phone, even with no signal. The app works out the DLS target, the points table and net run rate for you, and gives every match a live page to share.
